Still waiting!
Well Jen was due to have our new baby girl on Oct 7th. For all of those anxious with anticipation, so are we. Jen hasn't had any signs of labor starting and is waiting impatiently. I'm still at work, and plan to take some vacation once the baby comes but in the mean time am just going to work and waiting for that call. Jen has been trying to get an appoitment earlier (she has an appointment on Oct 15th setup already) but the OB is pretty booked with Halloween babies and can't get her in earlier. We hope they induce during that appointment or that Jen starts labor naturally on her own (soon.)
Otherwise we are fairly prepared for the baby's arrival. I have assembled all of the numerous baby gear (bassinet, crib, strollers, carseats, etc...) including the ones not needed yet just because I have had the time. I painted the baby's room in pink on the bottom, off white/light pink on the top, and extra white on the ceiling. The room looks nice and I'll try to post photo's soon. I also put on butterfly wall decorations (stickers) with a matching crib set. I planned on boxing in the window (it's sheetrocked to the window currently except the bottom sill) and running a chair rail and crown moulding for that extra touch. I bought most of the material to do that but have not had time to cut and prepaint and hang the mouldings (plus I have to drive kind of far to get a couple pieces, that I haven't bought yet.)
Otherwise we are mostly moved into the house (the garage is a mess, and every room still has a couple boxes of stuff left to deal with.) So that's somewhat a sense of relief. I do still have quite a bit of work on the rental (our house in Gaston, that we just moved from) that I would like to complete but haven't had a chance yet as I have been staying at home the last couple weekends hoping to get as much work done around the house before the baby comes. Plus this last weekend I relaxed quite a bit and read as I have been running hard the months before that.
Jen has been kind of tired and weak over the last couple weeks and just really anxious for the baby to make it's debut. She still is trudging through and doing some work to keep our house in order the best she can (I'm trying to chip in more than normal too.) Plus I have been taking Gabre to most of her events as Jen has been too tired to do all the running around. Gabre has had a cough for over a week and thankfully Jen never caught it so far. Thanks to everyone who has called and checked up on Jen and said hi, since she can't get around alot it's some of the only contact she gets lately and it's appreciated.
