Summer to Fall we haven't wrote at all
We found out since living in our new house and becoming farmers (ok Hobby Farmers) that summer is a lot of work. Especially since we have lots of summer birthdays in the family as well and still fixing up the place.
We have fixed the chicken coop up quite a bit but still more work to do. You can see before and afters in the project section of the website. We repainted it and also built nesting boxes. I still plan to dig out some of the outside that's in the hill a bit and fix the wood. Also finish fixing and replacing the fence. We have been working on that. Finally but I doubt this will happen this year, I want to build some retaing walls and level off the area some.
Additionally I rescreened the entire Sunporch and replaced all the decking on the outside of the sunporch this summer. I cleaned up and restored the inside this prior winter. I still plan to replace the metal screen door with a white wooden door and supports to the screens, and add vinyl plastic on velcro for the winter.
We have also been picking fruit like Crazy! Cherries, buckets of them and we didn't pick even 1% of the cherries. Rasberries that we turned to Jam, Blackberries into Jam. Of course we have lots of wild blackberries but we picked a few buckets since they were available. Then we have 5 pear trees which two of them are 30'-35' tall. We only picked about a third of them and we got 48 quart jars full canned. Now we have picked 150 gallons of apples with another 100 gallons left to pick. We plan to make lots and lots of Juice and Cida' (Cider.)
Otherwise happy birthday was done for Jennifer, Kyle, Chad and Charles since I wrote last. Happy Birthday.
