Fall Update
Well I have made some progress. I finished painting my in-laws neighbor a couple weeks ago. Yay. Glad to get that done. The rain finally stopped for a whole weekend so I could work 2 solid days and then get paid, and out of there. My in-laws plan to wait till spring which is good since the weather is very iffy.
Well no one responded to me about pressing apples. So I got another 800lb produce bin to make hard cider myself. Beautiful Jonagold apples from Mason Hill Orchard in North Plains. Finished them in two days and this batch is fermenting in the living room next to the pellet stove. They are making a mess though, but I'm excited to try this again. Last years cider was alcoholic but was not the best tasting apple cider. I am trying to add some tannins and malic acid to see if that makes the flavor more complex. I have 4 different recipes that I'll try. Earlier this year I used Honeycrisp for fresh press juiced that I got from Oregon Heritage Farm
Jen and I both went to parties this last weekend. Jen and her sister went to the scrap booking party where they made some neat collage type albums. I went to some friends from church when I was in high school. Matt Wall and Tim Beltz held a good party, interesting foreign scary films choices, but it was fun. My dad watched Gabre, they seemed to have fun too. Well hope to see some of you out at our place for the Pumpkin carving party. Please see the calendar for details
