Fun at the Geiszler's
Boy have we been busy (and no we're not making babies if that's what you're thinking!). With our trip to California to visit family, Gabre's Skyhawks camps, ballet camp, swimming lessons and family visiting we have been pretty booked. Gabre did very well at her camps. She was able to play soccer, baseball, basketball and make new friends. She has one ballet camp coming up in a week, and she's really excited. The swimming lessons are going great, she's now swimming on her back all by herself! We are so proud of her. She almost can swim on her stomach, she's so close. I have always encouraged Gabre to try everything once. All the things she's tried so far she has loved. I think it's
good for her to be around kids her age, so I want her to have that experience as well.
We are going to still put Gabre in tap lessons, swimming lessons and piano lessons this fall. We have considered gymnastics, but they aren't as close to our house, so we're not sure if we want to drive an hour for an hour of gymnastics.
Kyle is still going to purchase a Chevy Silverado 2500HD truck, along with a Yuchai or Tytan (Yuchai knockoff) bulldozer and possibly a Jinma tractor to manage and keep up on the property and a trailer to haul them. He's getting the truck in the middle of August, right around his birthday, so I say his presents have been covered! We have some good news though. We have decided to start breaking ground next year. Now, that doesn't mean the house will be done by next year, but we hope to have the outside of the house complete before winter hits. Then we will be doing a lot of the work ourselves on the inside. We're not sure how long it will take us to complete, but if it's meant to be then it will happen somehow. We will just have to put our trust in the Lord and go from there. We have already selected the floor plan and we are going to be going through the permit process and engineering next. We'll keep you updated throughout the process.
A few weeks ago my family tried to throw a surprise party but I figured it out. It was a lot of fun and we all had a good time. Kyle and I went to Seaside on a Friday and came back the next day for the surprise party. We rode the paddle boats, went shopping, walked around at the beach and had a good time. We left Gabre with my aunt and sister.
My aunt and cousin came up from California for a month. We went to Bullwinkle's and just had a blast playing laser tag, bumper boats, minature golf and riding go-karts. We went to turkey rama, which is a festival that is held in Mac, it was fun. Gabre went on her first roller coaster ride and she went by herself! She got off the ride and said, "it was fun, it was scary, it was fun, it was scary!" I was surprised she didn't cry or scream. She becoming such a big girl. We also decided to throw a little surprise party for my aunt since she wasn't going to be here for her birthday, she was surprised.
We just bought a half a steer and went in on it with Lee (Kyle's dad). One of Kyle's friends Matt Nelson is moving and he already made the commitment to buy half of the steer so he asked if we would be interested and we decided to take him up on it. We've purchased half of a steer before and really like it because we know where our meat is coming from and it's a lot cheaper in the long run.
Our trip to California was a lot of fun, we were able to videotape and take pictures. We were welcomed with open arms and it was like being at home. We are keeping in touch with those family members as well. We might make it a tradition to visit them every year or maybe every other year. We're glad we went so that Lee, Kyle and Troy could see family members they haven't seen since they were younger. Thanks to you for everything and for such a great time!
